Product Description

Veer away from traditional straight-line shelving! Frames, tops and shelves constructed of 1" thick, 9-ply hardwood plywood. Choose from premium natural maple or oak veneers with solid wood edge or high pressure laminate faces with 3 mm PVC edge. These curved, 60° units are available in concave (shelves on inner curve) or convex (shelves on outer curve) models. Shelves adjust in 1-1/4" increments for storage flexibility and hold up to 175 lbs. Back panels are available in 2 styles — 1/4" thick engineered wood with premium wood veneers or 14-gauge perforated, silver powder-coated steel. Each unit measures 72"W x 18"D overall. All units roll easily on 3" dia., locking swivel casters with a soft plastic tread.

Light Assembly Required. You may have to tighten a few bolts or turn a few screws. (less than 15 min)

Rated 4 out of 5 by SSPL from Great Shelving We bought three sections of this shelving for our new public library. We chose this style to define our Young Adult area. It is very versatile. We can change the arrangement to suit our needs. I did feel that the picture in the catalog and on-line was a bit deceiving. It is probably designed for picture books. We needed it for our Young Adult section so we took the back off and could then use it as two sided. I had missed the pull down menu to choose the type of back. The first choice is metal, which is what it came with. It was actually a blessing in disguise, because it was pretty easy to remove. But, the picture only shows wood. I was assured by the customer rep that she would suggest to the catalog designers that they may want to include a picture of the shelving with the metal back. It is very heavy, durable shelving, but easy to move even loaded with books. The only other issue I have with Demco is the time from order to delivery. It took us 3.5 months to get the shelving.

In the assembly, we were concerned that some of them were cut incorrectly, but when we tried different shelves in different places, they fit perfectly. They hold about the same number of books as straight shelves of the same length, but the curve makes keeping them flush a little bit tricky. The casters allow the shelves to move easily and stay in place firmly. They have created great spaces for reading nooks in our library!
