Rated 5 out of 5 by MVF4 from Amazing tape-- if you can figure it out! I took a book repair class in graduate school and we used this tape. After learning the proper way to use it, I cannot imagine repairing tears any other way. It works wonders. Another reviewer was right-- the dispenser is TRICKY. If you get it set up right, the tape will peel away from the backing effortlessly and perfectly every time. If you set up the dispenser wrong, you've got to take the paper backing off yourself, and this tape is so thin it takes several minutes of maneuvering to get the super-thin tape to peel from the super-thin backing. Ugh. Anyway, once you've got the tape dispenser part working, the tape itself works like a dream. Some helpful hints are: do not center the tear on the tape (it puts more pressure on the paper), but rather put the tape a little off center. Also, use a bone folder to gently skim over the tape once its applied to the page. The Filmoplast tape will magically disappear, leaving your page almost as good as new! Really, this is by far the best way to mend torn pages. If you need help I recommend trying to find someone who has used the tape before for pointers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Northern from Pretty good tape for fixing pages Very good tape. The only reason I did not give it the extra star is because you have to make sure you leave the plastic part (what the tape is on) longer than the actual tape. God forbid if you don't! It is very hard to separate the tape from it's backing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by brenda63 from Wonderful for mending! I have used this product for years and I have found it to be the best for repairing torn pages. It is almost invisible (except on dark, colored pages) and it never yellows or gets brittle. It is a little on the expensive side, but would still recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Expat from Exactly what was needed. The pages that had torn are extremely thin. Also the paper is archival in quality and use. Separating the tape from the backing was a bit irritating the first time but after that it was easy. When the tape was put on the page it just disappeared and went totally transparent, also the paper bent, hung, and folded as if the tape was not even there. This was the best option for repairing pages in my books that I found.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Wayne State from Cautiously Optimistic... Don't know about the long run, but for now, the tape disappears into the blueprint, and this is wonderful. But what will it look like 20 years is the question. The only negative is it can be a pain to get out of the package.
