Meet the Mobile STEM Labs

If you need to pack a lot of STEM into a small space, look no further. Each heavy-duty, carefully organized lab supports up to four makers working together.

ROK Blocks Lab ›

Give young makers a strong foundation for future STEM learning.

  • Projects cover problem solving, introductory engineering, design cycles, spatial and logical reasoning, sequence and correspondence, symbolization and more
  • 40+ hours of STEM curriculum
  • Grades PreK–3
  • Sample Lesson Plan

SnapStack Lab ›

Help young learners gain a deep comprehension of challenging STEM concepts.

  • Projects cover simple and compound machines, structural and mechanical engineering, working with specifications and design briefs, and understanding diagrammatic instructions and more
  • 20+ hours of STEM curriculum
  • Grades 4–6
  • Sample Lesson Plan

Engineering Pathways Lab ›

Develop 21st century skills by immersing kids in real-world engineering challenges

  • Projects cover structural and mechanical engineering, robotic movement and mechanisms, autonomous robots and sensors, visual and C++ programming, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and more

Pathways
Lab

Phase 1
Mentored Construction Play

Young students need foundational STEM fluencies to prepare for ongoing STEM learning. While some students may learn these at home, this learning phase fills in these critical fluencies for underserved students

Phase 2
STEM Fundamentals

Students gain confidence in their ability to learn technical skills and create solutions of their own design. Explorations focus on intuitive concepts like how to make things strong, how to make things move, working in teams and the design process.

Phase 3
Applications in Design & Engineering

Non-intuitive STEM concepts are explored through applications in engineering and robotics. Students gain deep comprehension of challenging STEM concepts that they see at work in the world around them.

Phase 4
Systems of Technology

Students learn how to integrate different systems of technology with the Rokenbok system. These experiences are designed to give students the curiosity, desire and confidence to persist in STEM studies and seek STEM careers.
