Stay in place and get the job done - definitely get the cork bottom. They take up a bit of space, but not enough to take away a star.

We've had some of these book stops for years in our elementary library and were using them as book ends on the chapter book shelves. They work great for that purpose, except they do not stay on the bottom shelf. I've had one or two break over the years, but they've mostly held up quite well. I recently purchased more of these book stops to divide our non-fiction collection into smaller sections. We love the end result. Not only are books easier for students to find, they are also much easier for us to put away.

Happy with my purchase
We bought these to mark each letter in our high school fiction section. They snap onto the shelves easily and seem fairly stable there. We printed our letters on red card stock to match the shelf markers, and they're all nicely visible from across the room, which helps us direct kids to the author they're looking for. Would buy again.

Great for students and for me!
I recently bought this and am really happy with how they help organize my library shelves for our elementary students. I did take one reviewer's suggestion and splurged for the book-stop with the cork bottom. I also bought the plastic covers, and I made my own signs to go in them using Microsoft Publisher. They look great, and it saves me and my students time as they are able to easily locate specific books they want like football, basketball, sharks, etc.

Very helpful to organize library
I bought these to help organize my school library. I love them! Not only are they a nice pop of color but they provide a label for sections and help my readers find books with more ease. The only downside is that they don't work as well on bottom shelf. I tried putting them upside down but not as effective in stopping books. I used a metal book end and together they did the trick. A really great product. Splurge for the cork bottom:

Great product
We bought the ones with the cork bottom and we absolutely love them. We use them in our children's section as book ends. They are economical and can be moved about easily and with the cork bottoms they don't scratch the wood. They control the books better and the colors look great.
