Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I expected... I purchased these replacements to cover 26 Back Jack chairs our school already had for about 8 years, but were looking worn and faded. I was not the original purchaser of the chairs, so when I had to choose between the cotton and the Tuff Duck canvas I thought the covers we had looked more like canvas and so did all the other teachers we surveyed. So I ordered the Tuff Duck canvas in green, red and blue. They were not the same. The Tuff Duck is a canvas with a shiny protective layer which almost makes it look water repellant. It is definitely more durable, BUT they make a friction noise when the children move in the chairs (which of course they do once they hear the noise)...I never had that problem before. The green is also not the brighter green of the cotton, it is more of a dark military green, which in my opinion is not very attractive. I think Demco or Back Jack would do better to call their cotton, "cotton canvas" and give a better description of what Tuff Duck canvas is...for those of us who sew and know fabrics, what they call "cotton" is what most people refer to as canvas. If I had it to do all over again, I would save the money and just order what they call "cotton", but it is too much work to remove them all and box them up and send them back.
